                                    THE HUMSAFAR EXPRESS TRIP

A Railfan is someone who is passionate about trains.  I am one of those "so-called" Railfans. Railfans love trains and most of the time anything associated with them. They spend a lot of time, money and effort in pursuing this passion, right from studying, tracking, photo/video graphing trains, locomotives, ancillary equipment, their running, working and operations etc .

After a long trip of Ujjain, Kolkata, Jaipur, Delhi, Indore. I came back to Bikaner and after completing my work I decided to go back home , as always I opened the Irctc website to see the tickets availability for trains bound to  Mumbai , I always preferred Ranakpur express but this time  tickets weren’t available so I tried to see the tickets in other train , even Bikaner – bandra sf express was full , then I saw humsafar express ,  I booked the ticket in humsafar express although the timing were very odd it departed  from Bikaner  was 6 am  that means I had to wake up at 4 get ready and leave by 5 as I was 15 km away from Bikaner  jn . And its vasai arriving timing was morning 3:40 am

I  arrived  Bikaner station at 5:30 am and was very much excited about travelling in humsafar express and  returning to Mumbai  , I saw   maharaja express standing at platform :- 2  hauled by ldh wdm 3a 16122 towards jaisalmer pic of maharaja express standing at platform: - 2   





                                                                                                                   




After clicking the pic I went to the enquiry desk to ask as on which platform the train will arrive after The person on the desk informed me that train will arrive on platform:- 1 and at 5:50 on time train arrived at Bikaner station and Siliguri wdg4 12930 was hauling the train

Train Departed from Bikaner station at 6:25 , 5 min late of its actuall departure time from bikner , the massive  4500 hp  wdg-4  had picked up the speed just after leaving  the Bikaner jn , It was doing mps  ( maximun permissible speed ) until it  reached Palana at 6:50 where it was  looped for 16587 , Yesvantpur - Bikaner Express which was hauled by KJM WDM-3A  14083 , we were kept  waiting for 10 mins at loop line till the train had passed , because the whole North western railway  is single line .  after the train passed, starter was given and then, joined the main line again and started doing mps of 95 km/hr. which was maximum allowed by any wdg-4 ,  just before nokha train slowed done to 50 km/hr following the maximum permissible speed allowed for skipping station ,  skip nokha at 7:30 the train was running late by 7 mins by that time , had slowed down after 2 km from Nokha as tsr was placed between it for changing the sleeper , Train gained speed just  5 kms before chilo and then again achieved the mps, made unscheduled  halt at nagaur at 8:05, 8 mins before time , 12301 Howrah – Bikaner link superfast express Xing us after 25 min which was hauled by abr wdm 3A 16810r , Departed from nagaur at 8:35 which made my train delayed by 30 mins, Here are few pic clicked at nagaur junction

After departure from nagaur tea seller came , pantry fare isn’t include in the ticket so I had to pay to the Tea seller 10 rupees , which tasted more or less just like flavoured water and order for breakfast were taken, but even that wasn’t proper cutlet with bread were served and peanuts inside it weren’t proper cooked, even the crust of cutlet was half burned, below is the pic of the cutlet, there after I ordered food online for my lunch and dinner ….


Passed merta road at 9:39 which was 30 min late of its actual arriving time which is 9:09 and between nagaur and merta road train was doing mps …. And before merta there a curve which is almost 180 degree curve here the pic of it:- 
           





Had an unscheduled halt at merta road junction of 10 min which made it late by 40 mins and then after departure from merta raod  at 9:37  and after that train picked and 4500 hp wdg-4 was over speeding going above its permissible speed of 95 km/hr.   
  


After entering into merta – jodhpur  section the train almost picked mps and was first time time running stop for more than 83 kms between merta road and jodhpur junction at giving a avg of 79 kms/hr. Bgkt wdp4d 40098 with 14708 Ranakpur express was looped at banar ,

Reached jodhpur at 11:17 just a minute late then its actual arriving time at jodhpur ..!!! it has a lot of slack between Bikaner – jodhpur  being late by more than 30 min then to it came few a min late …  as I had ordered food from online because of not proper catering available on board

After having lunch I nearly slept for few hrs.  I woke up just few mins before marwar junction, arrived marwar junction at 12:49. 11 mins before of it actual time of arriving at marwar junction

AFTER DEPARTING FROM SOMEASAR WAS PRETTY MUCH DOING MPS  skipping JAWLI AND  RANI  stations between somesar  till Khimel   , was looped again at khimel (14:02) FOR 16534/KSR Bengaluru - Bhagat Ki Kothi Jodhpur Express (Via Guntakal)

AFTER DEPARTING FROM MORI BERA IT WAS DOING NON STOP MPS SKIPPING ATLEST 8 STATION BACK TO BACK AND TRAIN WAS RUNNING PERFECT ON TIME UNTILL MORTHALA  WERE IT WAS    HALTED  FOR MORE THEN  15 MINS FOR 19223/Ahmedabad - Jammu Tawi Express

AFTER DEPARTING FROM ABU , TRAIN WAS DOING MPS AGAIN , THE ABU ROAD CREW WAS VERY HARD ON THE throttle OF THE WDG-4  it and THEN THE FOR 20 MINS I HAD A SMALL NAP , THEN I GOT A CALL FROM ONE OF MY FRND SAYING “ WHAT ARE YOU DOING “  , I REPLIED   “ I AM HAIVNG A SMALL NAP “  HE WAS LIKE DUDE YOU ARE VISITING NORTH WESTERN RAILWAY  IN DAY TIME JUST CLICK THE PICTURE OF DOUBLING WORK AND ALSO THE ELECTRIFICATION WORK GOING ON IN NORTH WESTERN RAILWAY  BETWEEN ABU ROAD AND PALANPUR WHERE THE TWO ZONES MEET NORTH WESTERN RAILWAY  AND WR

REACHED Palanpur Junction (16:55) on time, 3 FRIEGHTS WHERE WAITING FOR THE SATRTER TOWARDS ABU ROAD, AFTER HALT OF 6 MINS AT PALANPUR JUNCTION DEPARTED AR 17:01 AND NOW THE JOURNEY IN WESTERN RAILWAY (WR) STARTS

AFTER DEPARTING FROM PALANPUR IT WASN’T MORE THE 8 KM, THE TRAIN WAS AGAIN LOOPED AT Umardashi, IT TOOK MORE THEN 10 MINS FOR THE FRIEGHTS FOR WHICH THE TRAIN WAS LOOPED COME, MAKING THE ON GAOING 14715 GET AGAIN DELAY BY 10 MINS    .  HERE ARE FEW PIC OF THE FREIGHT IN THE LOOP AND EVEN THE DS HIGHTED POLE

AFTER DEPARTING FROM THE LOOP THE TRAIN WAS DOING MPS UNLESS IT REACH UNJHA THE HOME SIGNAL WAS RED AND TRAIN HAD SLOWED  DOWN BUT BEFORE IT WAS STOPPED THE SIGNAL TURNED GREEN AND THE PIC PICKED UP THE SPEED , ADI – ABU ROAD DEMU WAS AT UNJHA FOR WHICH THE TRAIN WAS SLOWED ….. AFTER DEPARTING UNJHA THE TRAIN PICKED UP THE SPEED AND AS USAUAL I WAS STANDING AT DOOR NOTICING THE CHANGED THAT HAPPENED BETWEEN UNJHA – ADI AS I HAD VISITED JUST 6 MONTHS BACK ONLY AND I NOTICED A GREAT CHANGED IN IT …

2)      THE TRAIN MPS AT CRUVES HAD ALSO IINCREASED BY 10 KM/HR WHERE PSR WERE KEPT

AFTER DEPARTING FROM AMBLiysan at 18:450 got a message from a friend the theirs a derailment  at shaplahe , around 3-4 goods wagon had been derailed causing blockage to trains to go and come out of Mumbai he has send me few pics also here they are ……

After getting this message and pic, I was like what .!! returing to mumbai after months and a derailment which is going to welcome me ……..

After recovering from that sudden shock I thought of  having a cup of tea  and refresh the mind , as a cup of tea is a best way to refresh from all the mood ... as I had got side lower berth  which is the best seat for a person who is travelling alone or the upper berth as more then half the  train was running empty it was easy to get any seat which is there after having a chat with tte

Train reached Ahmedabad Junction at 19:40 just 5 mins late of its actuall timing , as it had loco change and a halt of 20 mins I decided to walk down 13 coaches to see which loco is been given for the first commercial run … and it was a wap 5 30076

After watching the loco, I ran back 13 coaches to b4 where my seat was … I reach to coach in time and order my dinner at brc … through travel khana...

REACHED BRC AT ONTIME AT 21:43 AND MY dinner was here from dominos

HUMSAFAR DEPRATED FROM Brc at 21:48  right on time ..  14708 Bdts – Bikaner Ranakpur express arrived brc on time with brc p7 30459 in lead after I finished my dinner I thought to take a nap as I was going to DE board the train at vasai road which was going to come at morning 03:35
My sleep woke up suddenly as I heard a train honking as I had a side lower berth near the track side.. . i saw and it was 1:00 and saw train standing at the loop line of  Vedchha , with few co passenger awake I asked them since how long it has been waiting they answered and I was shock to hear that it was been halted since 30 mins and 3 frights had overtook it already , I asked them did it reach Bharuch and surat on time they told yes with minor delayed cross both and when I called my  friend to tell him that I have been looped since 30-40 mins he answered did u forget about the derailment .. then within few sec a wap4 honking overtook us … we weren’t given starter and was about 1h 50m late that means we were looped for 1 hr. 10 mins we left at 02:37 and the after covering a distance of less than 10 km again we were looped at Amalsad and delay was about 1h 54m late till then when while on down line 22351 with Saurashtra mail and departed from Amalsad at 3:06 almost 2 hrs.’ 33 mins  late , even when we didn’t covered more than 5 km it was looped at BIM/Bilimora Junction at 3:23 and now again Tkd twin wag5 with boxn loaded with Coal overtook us at Bilimora  …after that I knew it the train won’t reach vasai atlest till 8 in the morning and as I didn’t had proper sleep I again went back to my seat and I slept and this time I woke up at 6:00 as my mobile battery went dead as of continues us I kept it for charging , after I kept for charging I saw out of the window and saw that train is still at valsad and I got know that one train also ot while I was sleeping and that was the tvc raj which overtook us at Bilimora  also ….right from 6 am it was standing  at valsad platform till my mobile got 70% charge at 7am I open and called my family to inform them and then I got to know that train is now delayed by more than 6 hrs. 21 mins late.. That’s some serious delay and that to in western railway …. Finally accouncent went at the platform of valsad that 14715 humsafar express is ready to depart and we departed at 7:33 and after departing from valsad there was a line-up of down trains at valsad

AFTER DEPARTING FROM VALSAD THE TRAIN WAS LOOPED AT Udvada (7:45) the train was almost late by 7 hrs. and the effect of derailment was been showed up …
After being looped for more than 15 mins I thought of having a walk so I walked down the locomotive once again walked 13 coaches took the pic of the loco and the eog

And for now the unexpected for the expected the Rajdhani express  and the garib rath overtakes the humsafar express and ahead of it was the surat – virar passenger , which was also surprising overtake ……

AFTER 15 MINS OF OVERTAKE, FINALLY WE DEPART FROM Udvada AT 8:56 are, being late by more than 7 hrs. 20 mins …..
After departing from Udvada the train hated at vapi at 9:00 bcoz starter wasn’t given . And on down line the accident relief van with ratlam wdm3a towards Surat

And finally the train was back on mps from Umargam to kelve . after kelve the train was crawling at the speed of 30-40 km/hr speed .  and  then halted at sah outer ..waiting for the garib rath to clear the line and Brc superfast is behind my train … now its time to approach the accident spot

After the train passed from the caution spot the train started to do mps again after 6 hrs again the train started to do the mps … Garibh rath  was ahead if us , the train did mps till the naigaon where after that the train slowed down and was approaching my halt at vasai road …
Train  reached vasai raod at 08 March 2017, ‏‎13:41:56 , train was delayed by almost more then 7 hrs 45 min … after humsafar departed from vasai road at 13:50
